When Satire Leads to Slaughter

A few days ago, I made a huge mistake — I watched HBO’s Last Week Tonight. When the episode about Israel popped up on my YouTube feed, I clicked, against my better judgment. What followed was twenty minutes of misrepresentation posing as comedic journalism. The host, John Oliver, displayed either a startling ignorance — or worse, a willful disregard for context.
