“What a win for the Jewish people,” I said to my colleagues as we walked out of a recent bris together. It truly felt that way. When the parents first contacted me, they had their reservations. “I can’t imagine hurting my son,” the father had remarked. “If the idea of a Brit Milah doesn’t give you pause, then you’re not a sentient being,” I replied. Thankfully, the conversation was enough to ease their fears. Since the Brit Milah was for the sake of conversion, we are now blessed with another Jew in our midst.
